Quinta no Valle da Estrada Grande Reserva 2020 Red Wine

Quinta no Valle da Estrada Grande Reserva is a distinguished Douro red wine that beautifully expresses the character of its schist soils and steep vineyard slopes in Medrões, Santa Marta de Penaguião. Aged for 24 months in French oak (half new, half second and third use), this wine offers a deep and elegant aromatic profile. On the nose, it reveals complex layers of ripe black fruits such as plum and cassis, complemented by graphite, tobacco, delicate violet florals, and a subtle balsamic freshness that adds sophistication to its aromatic core. On the palate, it is precise and tension-filled, with satiny texture, finely integrated tannins, and a long, elegant finish that reflects both tradition and finesse. 

Quinta no Estrada Grande Reserva Red Wine is best enjoyed with structured and flavourful dishes that can match its intensity. Try it alongside rich grilled or roasted red meats, braised short ribs, or hearty game dishes, which complement its firm tannic structure and fruit concentration. The wine’s freshness and complexity also make it a great companion for aged cheeses and mushroom-based dishes, enhancing both the food and the wine. Serving it slightly below room temperature (around 16–18 °C) and decanting before drinking will help open up its aromas and soften its texture.
