<p></p><p>It all began in 1918 when on 15 August, a few months before the Armistice, Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, born in the heart of the Port Wine hustle and bustle, decided to establish his own company.<br />With his uncle, he created a company to sell grape spirits to large Port Wine shippers. Soon afterwards he opened the head offices in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they remain to this date.<br />Today, with three quintas in the best winemaking areas of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças ensures its total control over the quality of its wines and the family is more involved than ever before</p>

<p>On the nose, Quinta do Poço do Lobo Reserva Red Wine offers a refined bouquet of wild berries, blackcurrant, cocoa, and tobacco, complemented by subtle spice and oak nuances. The palate is fresh and well-balanced, with polished tannins and a long, persistent finish. This wine pairs beautifully with grilled meats, game dishes, or aged cheeses, and it benefits from decanting or cellaring to further reveal its full potential. <p></p><p>The Quinta do Côtto, in Cidadelhe, relatively close to the Régua, is a property of 75 hectares of vineyard and a plot built in the eighteenth century. The owners of the farm, the Montez Champalimaud family, exclusively produced Port wine until the beginning of the 20th century. In 1980 Miguel Champalimaud launched the first Quinta do Côtto Grande Escolha, consolidating the concept of Douro's quinta wines, which are still rare in the region.<br />The Quinta do Côtto brand has grown greatly in notoriety since then, until it became one of the most classic and prestigious references in the Douro region</p>
