<p></p><p>At the end of the 90's, with the development of the activity, João Pedro Araújo's family decided to acquire Quinta da Vegia, in order to start producing red wines.</p> <p>Located in the Dão Region, next to the town of Penalva do Castelo, it currently has 20 ha of vineyards. His mindset followed a careful choice of grape varieties - Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Alfrocheiro and Tinto Cão, Encruzado and Bical - in order to create Quinta da Vegia wines.</p>

<p>Chicane Gião II is a distinctive red wine from the Dão region of Portugal, crafted by the independent and artisanal producer Chicane in collaboration with the team at Quinta dos Garnachos. It is made from 100% Jaen (Mencía) grapes harvested from vineyards in Vila Nova de Tazem at around 450 m altitude, giving the wine a strong expression of its terroir and varietal character. The vinification combines traditional techniques, including partial fermentation in lagar and aging in French oak followed by stainless steel for natural stabilization, resulting in a wine that balances structure and freshness.</p>

The aroma is complex and expressive, with notes of ripe red fruits (cherry, raspberry), black fruits, spices (pepper, cocoa), smoky and mineral touches, and sometimes nuances of Chinese ink. On the palate, it is full-bodied, fresh, and elegant, with present but assertive and well-integrated tannins. It boasts vibrant acidity, good mouthfeel, and a long, dry, and fresh finish, where fruit and spices linger, sometimes with a slight bitter note contrasting the fruit's sweetness. This wine's structure, freshness, and complexity make it highly versatile for food pairing, ideal with roasted or grilled red meats, game dishes, soft or aged cheeses, and rich stews.</p>
