<p>The Conde de Anadia wines are born at the Palace of the Condes Anadia in Mangualde-Viseu.<br />Wine production on the estate dates back to the 18th century. Within the walls of the Palace we find the 10 hectares of vineyards, planted at 500 meters of altitude in granite soils, framed to the west by the majestic Serra da Estrela and flanked by the forest of the property. Belonging to the demarcated region of the Dão (sub-region Terras de Azurara) in the vineyards of the Palace we find the typical varieties of the Dão region: Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Jaen and Encruzado.</p> <p></p>

<p></p> <p>Pera Manca White Wine is made from a selection of Arinto and Antão Vaz grape varieties, planted in the vineyards of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation. When the grapes reach their ideal ripeness, they are harvested and transported to the winery, where the technological process begins: total destemming and slight crushing, pressing, cooling and clarification of the must. Part of the batch ferments in stainless steel tanks, the other part in French oak barrels at a controlled temperature of 16ºC. Fermentation is followed by ageing on fine lees with periodic batonnage for 12 months. Finally, there is filtration, blending, tartaric and protein stabilisation, final filtration and bottling, followed by a final 10-month bottle ageing.</p>

<p></p><p>Vinha do Lado Red Wine presents intense colour, with aromas of jam, ripe fruit, truffles and vanilla. On the palate it has good acidity, soft but firm tannins and a long finish.</p> <p>The grapes are destemmed and carefully selected at the hand-picking table. After crushing, they are trodden in marble presses using the traditional foot treading method.  Transfer to stainless steel vats where the alcoholic fermentation finishes. This is followed by 12 days of post-fermentation maceration.</p>
