<p></p><p>At the end of the 90's, with the development of the activity, João Pedro Araújo's family decided to acquire Quinta da Vegia, in order to start producing red wines.</p> <p>Located in the Dão Region, next to the town of Penalva do Castelo, it currently has 20 ha of vineyards. His mindset followed a careful choice of grape varieties - Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Alfrocheiro and Tinto Cão, Encruzado and Bical - in order to create Quinta da Vegia wines.</p>

<p></p><p>Located in Vilar Seco, municipality of Nelas, in the district of Viseu, Quinta da Teixuga is a 30 hectare property.<br />Located in the heart of the Dão Region, it is surrounded by mountainous massifs, such as Serra da Estrela and Caramulo. This location allows excellent thermal amplitudes for a good maturation of the grapes leading to its slow maturation producing wines with rich aromas and good acidity.</p>

<p><span class="selected">When tasting, expect an </span>opaque red colour<span class="selected">, sometimes with intense ruby tones. The </span>aroma<span class="selected"> is very expressive and true to the grape, with notes of red fruits (cherries, blackberries, blueberries, wild strawberries) and black fruits, spicy hints of black pepper, vegetal notes, and a distinctive "Chinese ink" character. Toasted and smoky notes may also appear. On the </span>palate<span class="selected">, it is elegant and smooth, with a silky texture and easy, very soft tannins. It shows great balance and balanced acidity, leading to a long and persistent finish that reveals the full elegance of the grape and </span><em>terroir</em><span class="selected">. This wine is an excellent gastronomic partner, ideal for red meat dishes (grilled, roasted), more structured poultry and white meats, cured cheeses, game dishes, and rich pasta sauces.</span></p>
