Foi em 2004 que os primeiros vinhos tintos da ODISSEIA foram produzidos.

Mas Jean-Hugues Gros trabalha no Douro desde 1999. Depois de completar seu curso de enologia e vários estágios na Borgonha em 1992, Jean-Hugues teve a oportunidade única de passar 16 meses no Porto em Sandeman. E foi assim que começou a descoberta dos vinhos do Porto, a encantadora região do Douro e os seus vinhos tintos.
Após mais algumas experiências na Califórnia e Champagne, o retorno definitivo foi em 1999 para trabalhar em uma pequena empresa portuária localizada perto de Tabuaço. Hoje em dia, Jean-Hugues é um produtor e também um consultor enólogo para várias Quintas do Douro.
