<p></p><p>This fortified wine dates back to the 14th century and reached its golden period by the laborious hands and sharp mind of Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo - Marquês de Pombal and Conde de Oeiras. Carcavelos' wine ran the world. It entered the most varied cultures. It has even given part of its 'soul' to Port wine in order to give it a 'body' and a superior taste. From this fertile and auspicious period, it fell to levels that without the intervention of the municipality was expected to cease to exist.</p> <p>It took hold and recovered and today, the vineyard continues to produce, on the hillside facing the Tejo, in the land that has always been fertile, shaken by the wind that is typical of us, the grape varieties. In the white, Galego Dourado, the Ratinho, the Arinto, the Rabo-de-Ovelha and the Seara-Nova; in the red, the perfect combination between the castes Castelão, Amostrinha and Trincadeira. Grapes that mixed in the exact measure, like alchemy, gives origin to our generous.</p>

A promise based on excellent terroirs, where persist old vineyards of traditional varieties, as Castelão and Moscatel. Vinified by ancestral methods, the wines from Quinta do Piloto are elegant, complex and charismatic; its character is a result from our best vines and small quantities of grapes chosen by excellence.</span></p>
<p></p><p>Moscatel Setúbal ‘Excellent’ is the result of intense work over more than 100 years, spread between the vineyard and the winery. The vineyard has been monitored and pampered for decades so that the yields did not exceed 2500 litres/ha. At the winery, a ‘proper’ winemaking process was devised for this product, different from the usual. The final ageing takes place in a variety of wooden barrels, where they will concentrate for decades. Excellent Moscatel de Setúbal is the result of a blend of very special barrels that result in an impressive wine.</p>
<p></p><p>Quinta da Pacheca is one of the best known estates in the Douro region and also one of the first properties to bottle wine under its own label.
