The founders of D’Oliveiras were visionaries that saw the true value of Madeira Wine: its ability to improve over time. Therefore they started storing as much Madeira Wine as possible, letting it slowly mature inside the barrels for future generations to be able to enjoy it further. For that reason, D’Oliveiras is the only Madeira Wine company that owns Madeira Wine bottles and Barrels from as far as the 1850’s that can still be commercially purchased.

The Symington family, with Scottish, English and Portuguese ancestry has been present in the Douro for five generations — since 1882 — and through the current generation’s great grandmother, the family’s links to the wines of the Douro span 14 generations, to the mid-17th century and to the very beginnings of the history of Port

Cossart Gordon Verdelho 10 Years Old is ideal for pairing with food. It shines alongside game dishes, spicy Asian cuisine, mushroom risottos, or rich terrines, while its freshness also makes it a refined match for semi-soft cheeses or roasted nuts. Serve slightly chilled to fully appreciate its depth, harmony, and refined structure

Visually, Cossart Gordon Sercial Vintage 1985 displays a golden topaz colour with old-gold reflections. On the nose, expect aromas of exotic smoky wood, very old brandy, and warming spices. Its palate is dry and fresh with razor-sharp acidity and a long, lingering finish featuring walnuts, aged brandy, and balsamic notes. A wine of purity and character, it’s best enjoyed as a contemplative experience—alone or paired with light desserts, nuts, or fine cheeses

In the glass, the Cossart Gordon Bual Vintage 1987 presents a topaz colour with gold highlights. The aroma is rich and complex with characteristic notes of toffee, wood, and vanilla, complemented by spices and dried fruits. On the palate it is smooth and concentrated, yet finely balanced, leading into a long, spicy aftertaste. With a texture that is both elegant and indulgent, it is a wine designed for savoring slowly — ideally with mature cheese or rich desserts
