<p>Vilar de Torpim Touriga Nacional Unoaked is a red wine that seeks to present a minimalist and pure interpretation of the most famous Portuguese grape variety in the high-altitude terroir of Beira Interior. By foregoing the oak-aging process (unoaked), the wine's focus is placed on the natural expression of the grape. This leads to a markedly fresh profile, focused on clean black fruit and intense floral notes (like violet), typical of the variety. In the mouth, the absence of oak enhances the vibrant acidity of the region, delivering an elegant red, with present but soft tannins, and a very clean and straightforward finish.<br /><br />The project is signed by winemaker Jorge Rosa Santos, who uses the brand Vilar de Torpim, based in the municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, to explore different viticultural approaches in the region. Known for his experimental spirit, the winemaker focuses on demonstrating how traditional grape varieties behave under extreme conditions of altitude and granitic soils. By releasing an unoaked version of a grape variety usually associated with prolonged aging, the producer reinforces his commitment to challenging conventional profiles and valuing the primary identity of the fruit.</p>
