Vinha dos Pais is a white wine from Douro region produced by Mapa Wines
There is a little dot in vast geography of the Douro delimiting an old family dream. It is in the little village of Muxagat. There, in the last frontier, Mapa is born.
<p></p><p>It all began in 1918 when on 15 August, a few months before the Armistice, Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, born in the heart of the Port Wine hustle and bustle, decided to establish his own company.<br />With his uncle, he created a company to sell grape spirits to large Port Wine shippers. Soon afterwards he opened the head offices in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they remain to this date.<br />Today, with three quintas in the best winemaking areas of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças ensures its total control over the quality of its wines and the family is more involved than ever before</p>
<p></p><p>Grapes 100% Moscatel Galego from the schist soil vineyard, where cold nights help preserve all the primary aromas potential of the variety. / Whole pressed grapes without destemming. / Natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperature between 16 - 18 ºC.</p>
<p></p><p>Vinha do Mazouco reserva red is carefully prepared from a careful selection of grapes from the Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca varieties</p>
<p></p><p>The Quinta do Filoco vineyards produce the best nectars of the Douro region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The vineyards and the Cellar were being modernized with new equipment, combining tradition and modernity in the well know how to make wine. The vineyards stretched along 130 hectares, surrounded by thickets with typically Mediterranean vegetation that contribute to the unique terroir of the Filoco wines.</p>
<p></p><p>Quinta de Sá de Baixo is located in Sedielos, municipality of Peso da Régua. </p> <p>The white wines, fermented at low temperatures with total destemming, are subject to less ageing and are bottled young, in order to preserve the balance between acidity and fruit achieved during vinification.</p>
