Located between two natural reserves, from the Estuary of the Tagus to the Northwest and the Sado to the southwest, the west of the Arrábida and the source of Barros Alentejanos, the region of Pegões presents privileged soil and climatic conditions.

With a climate of Mediterranean influence and located in the flat soil spot called "Pliocénio de Pegões", characterized by poor sandy soil formed over millions of years by the deposition of the sands transported by the Tejo and Sado rivers, it produces wines with unique characteristics, own of a terroir that only in Pegões exists.
Pegões is today a modern and competitive winery recognized both nationally and internationally, with more than 500 awards and prizes in the most renowned world wine competitions. In the last 10 years, we have been awarded the 4th best wine company in Portugal and in 2014 the 37th in the world by the "worldwide association of wine and liquor journalists and writers."
It has a wine area of ​​1117 hectares that produce on average 11,000,000 kg of grape, being 70% ink and 30% white. The red varieties produced are Castelão (Periquita) 65%, Touriga Nacional, Aragonês, Trincadeira, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, etc. with 35% in white predominates Fernão Pires 40%, Moscatel 25%, Tamarez, Arinto, Antão Vaz, Chardonnay, etc, 35%.
It registers a diversity of brands for its range of products, ranging from table wines to regional wines, DOC, Garrafeira, Selected Harvest, Moscatel, Spirits, Sparkling, etc.
