Port wine producers for 150 years, Niepoort cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia are a magical space where wines age.
Their diverse range of wines is known to all. Besides the production of excellent wines, Niepoort is concerned about their presentation and therefore its bottles are original and appealing.
An example of this is the range of Niepoortland Port Wines, a magical place conceived by the artist Regina Pessoa and, inspired by the characters of Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carrol.
This range is made up of three Ports: Ruby Dum and Tawny Dee, inspired by the twins Tweedle and Rabbit Dry White.
Ruby Dum ages for 3 years in large wooden vats which gives it a heavy and dense red colour; vibrant and fresh aroma, with notes of ripe fruit, balanced, with good structure and easy to drink. Ideal to accompany desserts based on dark chocolate and soft cheeses.
Tawny Dee ages on average 3 and a half years in small Port pipes giving it a golden brick colour and dry fruit aroma. In the mouth it shows balanced, with young fruit and sweet character, well integrated in a long and pleasant finish. Ideal to accompany desserts based on nuts, fruit tarts or burnt cream milk.
Rabbit Dry White is made in the tradicional style with long skin maceration. The final blend includes different wines aged in oak casks with an average of 3 and half years. It has a golden colour with a delicious aroma of walnuts and almonds which is prolonged in the mouth with a fresh and concentrated finish. This dry white is excellent when served as an aperitif or as a cocktail with tonic water and a slice or lemon peel.
