Herdade do Peso was acquired by Sogrape in 1996 becoming the brand, of this great wine producer, which represents the authenticity, excellence and true flavour of the Alentejo.
Located in the municipality of Vidigueira, this estate covers an area of 465 hectares. Yet only 120 hectares are planted with vines. The red grapes (Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon) occupy 112 hectares and the white grapes (Antão Vaz, Arinto and Chardonnay) occupy only 8 ha.
The wines produced on this estate offer different levels of complexity and style - from blended to monovarietal wines. In its range there are more accessible wines and others more exclusive, such as the Herdade do Peso Icone.
The fact that 12 different types of terroir have been identified at Herdade do Peso contributes to this, allowing the winemaking team to extract the best from each one to produce wines for all tastes and moments.
The wines produced at Herdade do Peso represent the warmth, colours, aromas and smells of the Alentejo.
