Márcio Lopes was born in Porto in 1983 and graduated in Agricultural Engineering from UP Faculty of Sciences in 2006. Between 2005 and 2008 he collaborates with Anselmo Mendes, before going to Austrália, where he makes two grape harvestings, one in Rutherglen and another in Island of Tasmania.
Since 2010, it has been doing the Pequenos Rebentos, in the region of Monção and Melgaço, with selected grapes from small producers without vinification, trying to express the character of the grapes and terroirs, with minimalistic oenological practices. From here they leave Alvarinho Limited Edition "À Moda Antiga", Alvarinho, and Alvarinho with Trajadura.
Also in 2010, it begins to make wines in the Upper Douro, having created the Proibido Grande Reserva, dominating the old vineyard with more than 20 different grape varieties.
In 2013 it is the first white in the Upper Douro, from old vines planted at a height of 700m in which the caste Rabigato predominates, which he called Permitido.
Recently launched a new project: Anel Reserva 2015, red of the Douro, with a more direct profile, coming from vineyards with 25 years, located between 150-250m altitude on the left bank of the Douro, Cima Corgo.
