Its Vintage Ports are noted for their luscious fruitiness which develops great opulence and complexity with age.</p> <p>This Brand was created in 1815 by two families, Fonseca and Monteiro. Then came the Guimaraens family who led the firm for over the century and established its reputation as a 'first growth' Vintage Port house. <p></p><p>The Sovibor - Soc. Vinhos de Borba, Lda. Is a Commercial Society by Quotas constituted by public deed, the 16 of December of 1968.<br />It is the result of the merger of two small producers who started their activities many years before 1968 and later created the firms Manuel Joaquim Mira and Domingos Luiz Pinto & Filho, Lda., Both with wide traditions in the wine field. Therefore, and as a result of such merger, SOVIBOR is managed by people traditionally linked to the wine business.</p>
<p></p><p>Susana Esteban was born in Tui, Spain. She holds a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a Master's degree in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of La Rioja. She began her trajectory as an oenologist in 1999 at Quinta do Côtto, and later worked as an oenologist at Quita do Crasto between 2002 and 2007. Both farms are located in the Douro. She has worked since the 2007 harvest as a consultant in different Alentejo producers, namely Tiago Cabaço Wines, Herdade do Barrocal, Monte dos Cabaços and Monte da Raposinha.</p>
<p></p><p>Herdade do Vau Hotel is located in the Alentejo, near the Guadiana River, in the center of a triangle formed by three historical cities - Beja, Serpa and Mértola.</p>
