Located in Barcelos, the history of Quinta do Azevedo dates back to the 11th century, when by royal donation the Azevedo family received these lands. Acquired by Sogrape in 1980, during the first years, it underwent detailed restoration, requalification and decoration works of the Solar, at the same time that new vineyards were planted with regional noble varieties (especially Loureiro and Pedernã) in an area of almost 34 hectares, under the guidance of Fernando Guedes, as well as the installation of a modern winemaking centre for the production of Quinta de Azevedo White Green Wine, among others.
With lower alcohol levels, the Vinho Verde wines attract new consumers due to their freshness of aromas and balanced acidity.
In the vineyards and cellar of this imposing property, whose mysterious tower has remained untouched since the 15th century, history is honoured with the creation of the best white wines.
