Constantino Ramos is an oenologist and producer of Afluente and Zafirah green wines.
The first, Afluente, is a white wine produced from the variety Alvarinho in the sub-region Monção and Melgaço. The grapes are harvested by hand in small boxes and the wine ages for 18 months (9 months in French oak barrels and 9 months in bottle).
This wine has an initial floral touch on the nose reminiscent of wild flowers and a vibrant acidity on the palate that conveys freshness and balance.
Zafirah, is the first red wine from Constantino Ramos and intends to be a different, alternative wine. The grape varieties chosen for its production - Alvarelhão, Pedral, Vinhão and Borraçal - originate from an old vineyard. Without tanning, fermentation is done in stainless steel (1/3) and oak barrels (2/3) and ageing for 6 months.
This wine has a ruby colour, fruity aromas of strawberries, fresh raspberries and peach. The mouth is structured but equally fresh and elegant. The finish is long and sharp with structure due to the barrel time.
