Founded in 1928, the Paço do Conde Agricultural Society is one of the oldest companies in the country. Today this company is managed by the grandsons of the founder.
The 3000 hectares of vineyards are located on the banks of the Guadiana River.
The plantation of the vineyard started in 1995 as a result of the careful selection of soils, sun exposure and red grape varieties - Aragonês, Trincadeira, Castelão, Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante Bouschet - and white grape varieties - Antão Vaz, Arinto, Verdelho and Viognier-.
The entire area is watered drop by drop and harvesting is done at night so that the grapes are harvested in the best conditions.
Rui Reguinga is the oenologist responsible for this project.
The range includes the brands Herdade do Paço do Conde, Herdade das Albernoas, Vilares, Encostas do Guadiana and 3 Herdades.
