No final da década de 90, com o desenvolvimento da atividade, a família de João Pedro Araújo decidiu adquirir a Quinta da Vegia, a fim de começar a produzir vinhos tintos.
Localizada na Região do Dão, junto à cidade de Penalva do Castelo, tem atualmente 20 hectares de vinha. Sua mentalidade seguiu uma escolha cuidadosa de castas - Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Alfrocheiro e Tinto Cão, Encruzado e Bical - para criar vinhos Quinta da Vegia.
