<p></p><p>O Vinho da corda foi uma das maneiras pelas quais os "licores" foram preparados antes da chegada do conhaque em meados do século XVII. As vinhas, uma vez plantadas mais perto do mar, foram capazes de alcançar outros graus de amadurecimento, permitindo um mosto naturalmente concentrado. A técnica consistia em primeiro separar o vinho da flor, que era mais claro e mais fresco, e então, da última prensagem, removendo o "vinho da corda" com uma aparência mais dourada e carregada, tão na moda na época. Este Vinho da Corda vem das vinhas ensolaradas do Porto Santo e mostra o potencial da ilha para estes vinhos ricos, autênticos e naturalmente oxidativos</p>
