<p>Em Fevereiro de 2009, João Afonso e a sua família adquiriram uma pequena quinta de 6 hectares no Parque Natural da Serra de S. Mamede.Situa-se no anfiteatro da aldeia do Reguengo a uma altitude de 600 metros, virada a sul e com o Alentejo a perder de vista. A propriedade tem 3,9 hectares de vinha muito velha (em 1932 já existia) repartidos entre parcelas de uvas brancas (16) e tintas (12), todas misturadas e consociadas com olival (o que não permite a produção de vinho DOC Alentejo).</p> <p>Biodiversidade e ecologia são os motores do projeto: o tipo atual de agricultura é orgânico (certificação Ecocert) e o objetivo é praticar a agricultura biodinâmica a 100% nos próximos 3 anos.Todo o trabalho agrícola - no tratamento e manutenção de solos e plantas - é manual.</p>
