Justino's Boal Colheita 2009 is a Madeira wine of the Colheita category, which means that it comes from a single harvest of a year with recognized quality and has aged in oak barrels until it was bottled. It presents an amber or coppery color, clear, and on the nose, it reveals complex notes of dried fruits (such as nuts and figs), caramel, sweet spices and subtle touches of toasted wood and smoke. The texture is silky and full-bodied, combining the natural sweetness with a vibrant and fresh acidity. The finish is usually long and persistent.
Justino's Boal Colheita 2009 underwent a lengthy process of oxidative aging in Pipas (natural estufagem / canteiro), showcasing immense stability. Once opened, the bottle can be preserved in perfect condition for several months. It should be served slightly chilled, ideally between 13°C and 15°C. The Boal grape variety is traditionally used to produce Madeira wines of medium sweetness, characterized by a balanced acidity that prevents the wine from becoming overly cloying.
