Quinta de La Rosa Colheita 2012 Port Wine is a product of Quinta de la Rosa, nestled in the Douro region. This Port Wine exemplifies a high-quality vintage, handpicked from the best harvests. The estate practices sustainable farming, with the grapes manually selected before being foot-trodden in granite lagares, following traditional methods.

The principal grape varieties used are Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão, Tinta Roriz, and in some versions Tinta Barroca. These high-quality grapes are grown in Category A vineyards, on steep slopes along the Douro River, up to about 500 meters in altitude.

After fermentation, the wine is aged for at least seven years in classic wooden barrels, some of which are over 100 years old. This lengthy period of wood maturation bestows upon the Colheita a complex character that is elegant and well-balanced, combining the youthful energy of the fruit with tertiary nuances of dried fruit, spices, and floral notes.

The wine's aroma is a medley of licorice, dark chocolate, vanilla, dried fruits, black cherry, plum, and toffee. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with a good viscosity, balanced sweetness with acidity, and a long, elegant, and fresh finish.
