Founded in 1884 by the brothers António and Francisco, the Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges soon became one of the main national wine companies. Recognizing that excellence can only Portuguese wines assert themselves in the world, Borges has always bet on the quality of its production, today exported to more than fifty countries on five continents.

Conscious of the need to dominate the production process since the vineyard plantation, Borges is present in the main Portuguese demarcated regions with three reference farms: in the Vinhos Verdes, the Quinta de Simaens with 46 hectares; in the Douro, Quinta da Soalheira with 340 hectares and in Dão the Quinta de São Simão da Aguieira with 74 hectares. Borges recently increased direct production capacity in the Dão region by about 100 hectares.
