Quinta da Extrema's Ensaios Extremes Touriga Nacional Red Wine unveils a garnet color, combining a bouquet of red currant fruit with a hint of vegetable. On the palate, it presents fleshy tannins and a high persistence, all wrapped up in a delicate structure. This wine masterfully balances robustness with subtlety, offering a unique and satisfying tasting experience.
Quinta da Extrema Ensaios Extremes Touriga Nacional Red Wine is crafted from the finest parcels of Touriga Nacional grapes, situated at an altitude of 450 meters on transitional granite and slate soils. This unique positioning of the vineyards provides the grapes with optimal maturation and balance. The selection and harvesting of the grapes are done manually, ensuring that only the best are placed in 20 kg boxes for transportation. Once they reach the winery, the grapes undergo cold maceration for 48 hours in stainless steel tanks. The fermentation process then begins, lasting between 7 to 10 days at a controlled temperature of 23ºC. An integral part of the process is malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels which contributes to the robust and complex flavor profile of the wine.
