Manuel Jorge de Sousa Pinto was born on July 23, 1966, in the parish of Mouriz, municipality of Paredes and district of Porto. He graduated in Oenology from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in 1992 and has a postgraduate degree in Quality Engineering, promoted by the Faculty of Engineering of Porto and the Portuguese Electrotechnical Institute (part of the law) since 1996. He has done several courses of Evidence, national and foreign wines, and was a member of the jury in several national and international wine competitions. He is a member of the General Council of the CVRVV and of the Board of Appeal of the Chamber of Proofers of the Vinhos Verdes Viticulture Commission. He was a collaborator at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro for several years. He is an entrepreneur and professor at E.T.G.I. - A.E.S.B.U.C. (Catholic University - Porto) and consultant in oenology in several national wine regions (Greens, Douro, Dão, Alentejo, Távora-Varosa, etc.).
