Founded in 1946 by Mário Barbeito de Vasconcelos, Vinhos Barbeito was always managed by family members.

At the time of its foundation there were more than 30 companies producing and exporting Madeira wine. Step by step, it has been gaining customers in many countries trying always to build strong and close relationships with them. Some of the current customers and suppliers are still of your time.
In 1985, at the death of Mário Barbeito de Vasconcelos, his daughter, Manuela de Vasconcelos, took his place in the management of the company since he had been working in Barbeito Wines since 1976.
One of the most important tasks was to continue the work begun by his father, through regular visits to importers and attendance at fairs. Today, proximity to customers and suppliers continues to be part of the company's philosophy.
