Tinta Negra grape variety is part of the ancient spirit of Madeira Island and is still the basis for the wines that have made the island famous. Outside Madeira Island, it is a rare grape variety that can only be found in regions where the sea is close by, taking on another name such as Molar in Colares, where it is practically extinct, Saborinho in the Azores, which is in the process of recovery, and the Canaries, where it takes on the name of TintaBastardo where it has very little expression. Not to be confused with Bastardo (aka Trosseau), its half-sister.

The winemakers Anselmo Mendes and Diogo Fonseca Lopes present, after a two-year break, the Magma and Muros de Magma wines, both of the Verdelho variety, resuming a project that began in 2011.

Saborinho (aka: Tinta Negra, Molar de Colares) is one of the traditional grape varietals of the Azores Islands that almost disappeared from our vineyards. This limited edition of 1518 bottles tests the potential of this grape. The result? A fresh red wine, with a ligth color, salty, iodine and complex, teasing the palate with something that could have only been born in the sea.

The Volcanic Series are wines of volcanic origin, where the soils, poor and stony, challenge the very definition of agricultural soil. In this almost "mother rock", in the middle of the Atlantic and at the base of Pico Mountain, pure and saline wines are born.
