Maçanita is a project by two brothers and winemakers who explored the terroirs of the Douro. They are so many and so different that in 1935 a system of classes from Letra A to Letra F, with the right to benefit, and without the right below Letra F began and continues to this day. In Letter A are the plots with the greatest maturity and which brought so much fame to the Douro; in Letters F and following, the opposite. With less power and concentration, they were pushed towards abandonment. But there are still forgotten treasures, vineyards planted in other times that confirm the existence of several Douros. This is one of them.

Crazy White Wine presents lemon colour. Nose starts to be enigmatic as a result of the tanning process in a concrete vat, to which the skins of white grapes harvested on the mountain were subjected. Minerality notes, almost metallic, dominate, advising for some time of aeration after the removal of the natural cork stopper. In the mouth, the CRAZY character combines lightness and youth, guaranteeing a refreshing, mineral and uncompromised tasting

Menin New Legacy is a wine with an intense ruby colour, very fine aromas of sour cherries, cassis and dark chocolate, while also showing balsamic and cherry nuances, nutmeg and peppermint. The palate is well-structured but full of harmony and freshness, with a long and persistent finish.

100-year-old Vinha Velha | 45-year-old Touriga Franca

Quinta do Portal is a family fine winemaking company that embraced with passion the “Boutique Winery” concept. They proudly produce DOC Douro wines, premium Port Wines and Moscatel.

The Symington family, with Scottish, English and Portuguese ancestry has been present in the Douro for five generations — since 1882 — and through the current generation’s great grandmother, the family’s links to the wines of the Douro span 14 generations, to the mid-17th century and to the very beginnings of the history of Port
