Quinta do Mouro Trincadeira 2018 Red Wine
It presents a black and ripe blue fruit aromas, notes of woods and flowers, mushrooms, some earthy. In the mouth it presents a sharp freshness and acidity, very well balanced with the structure, in an elegant and sophisticated whole, revealing one of the great grapes from Alentejo.
Quinta do Mouro is located at the gates of the city of Estremoz, and belonged for centuries to the Zagalos family, one of the wealthiest in town. This original "quinta" in Alentejo, where the vast estates dominate, has an 18th century grooved house, charming gardens, bowls and 18th century tanks. In 1979, at the age of 26, luck dictated Miguel Louro's fate at a poker table, among friends, when he had the dilemma of buying a Porsche or Quinta do Mouro. The first hectares of vineyard would be planted in 1989, after a failed incursion into cattle breeding, and today he is one of the most iconic wine producers in the region.
