Very few producers, and especially Madeira Wine, find in their history such a great revolution, as happened with Barbeito. Being a supplier of wines in bulk and from one moment to the other become a reference of the region of Madeira Wines, it is work. It all happened in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family business and decided, together with the Japanese Kinoshita with whom they joined, to make Barbeito one of the most important producers of Madeira Wine.
