(Menéres Family Estate) is a family-owned Estate company since 1874, lying Northeast of Portugal.</span><br /><br /><span>The company produces wine, olive oil and cork at Quinta do Romeu, Bragança district, and also owns the now extinct Monchique Convent and its outbuildings - which house the company's head-office and warehouses - in the marine promenade along the Douro River, in Porto, an area classified as World Heritage.</span><br /><br /><span>The Estate is entirely run under certified Organic Farming</span></p>
<p></p><p><span>Mateus Nicolau de Almeida, is a person of a disconcerting simplicity that does not even seem to carry the nickname of the tradition of a family with many years in the metier of wines. </span><span>In formation, he followed the Father's way, studying in Bordeaux. </span><span>When he returned he devoted himself wholeheartedly to the Muxagat project. </span><span>His wines, just as he exudes authenticity.</span></p>
<p></p><p>The history of the 100HECTARES wines begins in the early 70’s.</p> <p>The estates of the family are the origin of their wines, and the production is made exclusively from grapes coming from their properties, which is at the heart of the family’s production philosophy</p>
<p></p><p>The origin of the name of this wine is an old manor fam, located in Cabêda and founded in the century XV, belonged to a noble family of vintners named "Gragos", the connection of this imposing building to to the wine production is historical.</p>
<p></p><p>Located in the center of DOC Douro, Quinta dos Murças is characterized for its 8 terroirs, very marked by mountains, different altitudes and sun exposures, schist soils and the characteristic climate of the Douro valley</p>
