Is a Commercial Society by Quotas constituted by public deed, the 16 of December of 1968.<br />It is the result of the merger of two small producers who started their activities many years before 1968 and later created the firms Manuel Joaquim Mira and Domingos Luiz Pinto &amp; Filho, Lda., Both with wide traditions in the wine field. <p></p><p>As well as being one of the most famous wine estates in the world and a producer of exceptional Vintage Port, Quinta de Vargellas is also the source of one of the best olive oils in the Douro. Predominantly of the Madural, Verdeal and Cordovil varieties, olive trees can be found throughout the property.</p> <p>The oil, which has an exceptionally low acidity, is extracted from the first cold pressing of the olives and is classified as Extra Virgin.</p>
