<p></p><p>In Zambujeira do Mar, where the high temperatures of the Alentejo are mitigated by the Atlantic, the concentration typical of inland viticulture is balanced by the freshness and humidity of the sea, leading to ideal maturation. The grapes ripen, thus, in a slow and balanced way, with cool and wet winters, mild summers and the constant presence of the sea winds, creating wines where elegance overrides robustness.</p>
<p></p><p>Monte do Desespero Red Wine presents garnet-coloured, with a complex and subtle aroma, with notes of wild berries, cocoa and a slight toastiness. The palate is elegant, with delicate tannins and a well-structured body.</p>
<p>The Cartuxa rosé was produced from two plots of Touriga Nacional, planted in the vineyards of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation. Manual harvesting, with subsequent cooling of the grape to 14ºC, before total destemming and optical choice of berries. After pressing (gravity loading), only the drainage and fraction of the must for drainage and low pressure for the fermentation in stainless steel tank and barrel - 10% of the lot fermented in used barrels, intensifying volume and unctuousness. No malolactic fermentation was carried out. Ageing on fine lees for nine months with regular bâtonnage. It was produced for the first time in 2021.</p>
