After a rigorous selection process, the grapes were completely destemmed. Fermentation took place in part granite mills in which the grapes were trodden by foot gently and partly in stainless steel vats for about 20 days

<p>The brothers Antonio and Edmar Monteiro are the founders of the 1912 Winemakers company. <br />The passion for the world of wine comes early in the life of these two brothers, who since childhood helped their father at the Quinta de São Bernardo property on the banks of the Douro River.<br />Later they acquired Quinta de Águas, which allowed them to increase production but maintaining the same quality as the wines produced</p> <p></p>
<p>The Alvarinho grapes used in the Soalheiro came from several small vineyards planted in granite soil between 100 and 200 meters and located in a very particular microclimate. Melgaço region, the northern point of Portugal, is protected by a range of mountains that create the perfect conditions of rainfall, temperature and number of hours of sunshine needed to the better ripeness of the Alvarinho grapes</p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p>
<p class="page-title">Meandro Red Wine presents a ruby dark colour, of great saturation. Very expressive nose, full of ripe berries. It lets the acidity guess gentle tracks of tropicality and green olive. In the mouth, intense and quite definite passion fruit that quickly is tinged in wild fruits, full of freshness. <p>Prats & Symington was founded in 1999 as a joint venture between the well known Bordeaux winemaker, Bruno Prats and the Symington family. It is an independent company specialising in dry red wines which has been at the forefront of the DOC Douro quality revolution and instrumental in driving forward the high quality image of the region.</p> <p></p> <p> </p> <p></p>
<p>It is prodigious the love that is felt in Jorge Rosas, son of José Rosas and great-grandson of Adriano Ramos Pinto, for his farm, for the vineyards, for the wine, for the wine cellar of aesthetics. At Quinta da Touriga we find the roots of the Douro wine and visionary men who found the chimera in the Douro.</p>
<p>Quinta de Valbom red and Quinta de Valbom Reserva red are the two wines that this property produces. They result from vinification in granite lagares and the ageing takes place in French oak barrels.</p> <p>More than just producing one more wine, Luis Duarte's aim is to produce an ex-libris of the douro region, so he is in no hurry to put it on the market. On the contrary, he bets on prolonged ageing and the result is a wine where all the elements are more integrated, more harmonized giving more pleasure to drink it!</p>

<p>The Quinta de La Rosa red 2015 is a very seductive wine, with blackberry and strawberry aromas combining with floral notes, especially violet (coming from the Touriga Franca grape). On the palate, there is a lot of rich fruit but not at all heavy, showing the best of the Douro where richness and structure combines with freshness and elegance.</p> <p></p> <p></p>

<p>At Quinta do Vallado one can often observe three "Melros" - the common blackbird, and the protected species white-throated dipper and blue rock thrush - wich served as inspiration for the name and label of this wine.</p>
