The Adega Madre de Agua - Serra da Estrela is located in the region of Dão, producing some of the best national wines, owners of great quality and elegance.
<p>At the end of the 90's, with the development of the activity, João Pedro Araújo's family decided to acquire Quinta da Vegia, in order to start producing red wines.</p> <p>Located in the Dão Region, next to the town of Penalva do Castelo, it currently has 20 ha of vineyards. His mindset followed a careful choice of grape varieties - Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Alfrocheiro and Tinto Cão, Encruzado and Bical - in order to create Quinta da Vegia wines.</p>
<p>The aroma is elegant and complex, typical of the variety, with ripe fruit and a floral touch well linked to the wood, where fruitiness and freshness combine perfectly.<br />In the mouth, it is full-bodied with a long and persistent finish where the perfect marriage between wine and oak is noted.</p>
<p>Osvaldo Amado has been making wines for 32 years and for about two years has decided to restructure his life, abandoning consulting to have more time for the Global Wines Group's wines and also to be able to create his own wines, in a style never before marketed. Workshop wines, whether classic or modern, but always differentiated by originality and rarity, produced in limited editions.</p>

The winemaking operation has been a family activity for several generations, in the beginning they were delivering their grapes at the Adega Cooperativa. In 1999, with the end of the superior studies in Viticulture and Enology of João Paulo Gouveia, son of João Coelho Gouveia, they decide to create their own wine. The vineyards were restructured, others were acquired and a modern wine cellar was built and with a high technology, all respecting the culture of the Dão demarcated region. In 2014 the name of the company became Pedra Cancela Vinhos do Dão Lda</p>
