The family property Morgado do Quintão, located between Silves, Monchique and Lagoa, in the Algarve region, was acquired by the Count of Silves in 1810 and continues in our days to belong to his descendants.
Over the years the property has prospered with the reconstruction of historic buildings, old vineyards and olive trees that surround it. The result is a "thoughtful place with love and attention in every detail".
The vineyards on the property are some of the oldest in the Algarve and it is from there that the award-winning wines are born, created in partnership with oenologist Joana Maçanita.
The wines from Morgado do Quintão cover old grape varieties and "natural" low intervention winemaking methods - the way they have always been produced for 300 years, displaying and elevating the quality and character of the Algarve's terroir. Local grapes such as Crato Branco and Negra Mole are preserved and used in the production of Palhete and Clarete wine.
