A note of great importance was given to the wine 'Nossa Calcário Baga', by Filipa Pato, in the American publication Robert Parker - Wine Advocate!
Mark Squires, a renowned North American critic responsible for wine evaluation in Portugal at Robert Parker - Wine Advocate, was surrendered to 'Nossa Calcário Baga', a Bairrada made 100% with the Baga variety. As a result, this wine from producer and winemaker Filipa Pato earned 96 points, the highest "note" for a Bairrada so far.
'Nossa Calcário Baga' is a wine project shared by Filipa Pato and her husband, William Wouters, in which they use a selection of grapes from the vineyards (old) of Bairrada, with an average age of 80 years. A red wine with an 18-month period, in kettles of 500 liters but also in a barrel of oak from Slovenia.
The freshness and natural acidity of the region's queen caste are extolled by the American critic as well as the subtlety of the wood and the nuances of fruit. The fruit is noted until the end of the mouth, making the wine very refreshing. For this purpose, it recommends decanting for 90 minutes. It is a very gastronomic wine, to drink from here for many years, since it has a guarding potential that will help you to develop the necessary complexity.
