When it comes to wines, red wine, and white wine are the most sought after. The most recognized wine companies worldwide know it, so they have dedicated many of their operational years to the growth of their red and white wine reserves. In this sense, Esporão offers both types of wine and has taken care of the maturation time of each one, protecting the excellence of its raw material, in order to maintain its high quality.

Red wine is the first wine that Esporão made and its creation dates back to 1985. It is one of the best Alentejo wines, a fact that can be verified thanks to its consistency and rich flavor. When you taste a little of the Esporão red wine, you can quickly recognize the aroma and flavor that characterizes the best productions of the territory where the Herdade do Esporão grapes are grown, the main element in the elaboration of this traditional product.

In addition to following sustainable agricultural practices, the viticulture behind this wine allows its products to be one of the most optimal. In the case of red wine, grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in small capacity tanks with temperature control. Then, once the pressing is done, the wines are aged in American and French oak barrels for 12 months. Thanks to this, you get an exquisite red wine that maintains the traditional wealth of the region and respects the universal culture of wine.

The production of white wine is a bit similar. The cultivation of the grapes with which it is made, also grapes from Herdade do Esporão, is carried out in a friendly way with the environment, ensuring the quality of its fruits and the rationalization of natural resources. They are harvested in the fresh morning and are vinified separately, after a partial stage of 6 months, French and American oak barrels with fine lees.

The fantastic white wine of Esporão is creamy and has a volume and balance that give it a long and intense finish. It is full of fruit, contains notes of carambola (star fruit), grapefruit and lemon with hints of spices and a toasted and aromatic flavor. Red wine, meanwhile, is more dense and complex; it reveals notes of berries and blueberry jam and is flavored with hints of coffee and black pepper.
