Druida is the name of the wine project that brings together two oenologists - Nuno Mira do Ó and João Corrêa - in 2012 to create a white wine, produced only with the variety Encruzado in the Dão region.
Produced in small quantities, this wine became an icon of the wine region that saw it born.
Druida Tinto and Vidente were the red wines that succeeded it, produced from the red grape varieties existing in the same property (Jaen, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Tinha Pinheira).
In 2017 the Grande Druida white wine was launched, a tribute that Nuno Mira do ó wanted to pay to João Correa, who died in 2015, and who therefore did not see his project grow and its imposition as a reference wine in the Dão region.
The Druids were wise men of Celtic origin who sought to achieve spiritual balance through the balance of nature.
Druida and Vidente wines are just that, a search for balance with maximum respect for nature. This is a personal project driven by a passion for wines, where the grapes are the real stars and winemaking is of minimal intervention. The Dão is the main region and base of the Mira do Ó wines, the home of the Druida and Vidente.
