Casa Ferreirinha is one of the most emblematic wine producers in all of Douro, Portugal. It is impossible to think about their wines and not remember their great quality and their immense flavor. Since the company was founded in the 18th century by Bernardo Ferreira, his work has been compared only to the purest art of creation.
Ferreira's descendants followed their traditions but there was one person in particular who managed to refine the wine's formula incredibly: his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as "Ferreirinha" or "Ferreirinha-da-Régua".
Her work was admirable. Dona Antónia made the company famous, filled it with its charisma and vitality. He dedicated most of his efforts to the heritage represented by Casa Casa Ferreirinha and gave his products an unsurpassed level of quality backed by the best oenological crops and methods.
After her death, it became a limited company and began the stage of adaptation to the market that has led to the great success it now has. All its wines are produced under a strong brand thanks to the deep knowledge of the Douro Superior and its properties. The grapes from its cultivation exceed the expectations of the most demanding tasters and have allowed Casa Ferreirinha to have what is necessary to reach each sector of the market.
Casa Ferreirinha was acquired by the Sogrape group in 1987. Esteva, Papa Figos, Vinha Grande, Callabriga, Quinta da Leda, Antónia Adelaide, Reserva Especial and Barca Velha are the wines produced by Casa Ferreirinha, under the tutelage of the oenologist Luís Sottomayor
