In this region, the second to be demarcated in Portugal in 1908, you will find a great diversity of varieties, such as Alfrocheiro, Bastardo or Touriga Nacional, in terms of red varieties. This diversity, combined with the soil-climatic factors of the region, production techniques employed and the knowledge of its people, results in a wine of great quality and appreciated throughout the country.
In fact, there are many wines to be tasted during your visit to the Dão region, each with its own characteristics.
The reds, velvety and full-bodied, have a complex flavor and aroma of ripe fruit. The whites are soft and fresh, presenting a fruity odor. The rosés, light and refreshing, have a fruity and floral aroma. And, finally, the sparkling, elegant and bubble-thin, are fresh and aroma of fruit.
To taste its various wines and, at the same time, to know a little of the tradition and culture related to the wine production in this region choose one of several Dão Wines.
Glamorous and of floral expression, but also with rusticity along with ripe red fruit notes like strawberry and black cherry, this is a blend of three grape varieties which together create a wine that already counts with as many medals as vintages
Touriga Nacional, for its aromatic expression in violets, currant and blackcurrant, originates a wine with a good structure in the mouth with soft tannins and a floral and refined black fruit flavour.
A complex dialogue between the wood and the delicate notes of Touriga Nacional, which extend into a full-bodied but fruity and balanced wine
Eucalyptus nuances can be found in this wine, both in aroma and flavour. With great complexity, elegance and depth, this wine is the finished example of the best we can have from Dão
Golden coloured with tropical fruit aromas and orange jam. Sweet and voluminous in the mouth, served with a good acidity, it is complex and persistent.
Passarella Tinta Roriz reveals a lot of character and claw. The tannins give the motto to a spicy, wide and incisive tasting that clings tastefully to the mouth
Fugitivo Bastado has a red colour and aromas of red fruits and vegetables. It has an elegant, delicate and complex mouth. Long finish
It presents a vivid colour, with aromas of red fruits and vegetable. Elegant, delicate mouth and great complexity. Long aftertaste
It presents a deep red col our, strong vegetal character, even with a slight volatile touch that helps the freshness of the set. It is a difficult, serious and out of fashion red wine, structured but austere and with evident tannins that assure it long life in the cellar.
Vadio Rexarte is the first terroir wine we produce at Vadio
In the mouth it presents volume and structure but of polished and elegant tannins married with the transmontana freshness, which extends at the end of the mouth very persistent.
